A ‘Holly Golightly’ Culinary Experience Brought to Us by Encore Catering & Sable and Rosenfeld

I was thrilled to be invited to Thursday’s Holly Golightly – a private soiree created by Encore Catering ( Encore Food with Elegance) in collaboration with Sable and Rosenfeld Gourmet Products to experience a special tasting menu and learn how to make hors d’ oeuvres. It was an intimate event with only a small group of guests invited and I was honored to be one of them.
Our ‘Golightly’ adventure started with a limo escorting us to Encore’s state of the art facility while we popped 2 bottles of bubbly and enjoyed them with delicious hors d’ oeuvres. After arriving the venue Cary and David Silber – the big guys of Encore gave us a tour of the office and the kitchen where we learned how to make our own hors d’ oeuvres under the chefs’ lead.

After enjoying our appetizers, a martini station awaits with a whole selection of Tipsy Olives by Sable and Rosenfeld. These ‘tipsy olives’ are all marinated with liquor! I garnished mine with a Vodka Jalapeño Tipsy Olive and a Gin Lemon Tipsy Olive.

After seating us at the nice little dining area they set up for the night, Executive Chef Roshan Wanasingha came out and explained each mouth-watering dish he designed in collaboration with Sable and Rosenfeld Gourmet Products.

The appetizers…

Poultry Three Ways- open faced turkey burger on brioche bun with Sable and Rosenfeld cranberry sauce, Sable and Rosenfeld teriyaki chicken taco placed on a zucchini ring with red daikon and cilantro sprout, Sable and Rosenfeld jerk chicken on homemade corn bread muffin with mango salsa

Duo Fish- Sable & Rosenfeld lemon olive tapenade crusted halibut and shrimp crusted salmon on a jasmine rice pilaf with baby zucchini sauteed snow pea leaves and three pepper coulis

The presentation was beautiful, the food was scrumptious, all dishes had different layers of flavours in each bite that blew my taste buds away. I’ve got to say that Holly Golightly was one of the best food experience I’ve ever had. After being in the industry for over 30 years, Encore Catering for sure holds a reputation that is well-deserved.

Each of us left with a goodie bag with a ‘tipsy jerk sauce’ made with rum and a ‘tipsy teriyaki sauce’ made with sake.
I love how Sable and Rosenfeld provides a huge selection of sauces and condiments prepared with a variety of exotic spirits. Did I mention that their products are also mostly gluten-free and made with all-natural ingredients?
