BizBash, the leading news source for the event industry held its Plan-A-Thon workshop for event professionals last week at the Casa Loma.

Event industry all-stars shared their insights and new ideas for planning an event.
Mentors who spoke at the event included CEO and founder of BizBash David Adler, partner of The Knot Group Hilary Bonebakker, event director and owner of Our Forte Events Jennifer Boyko, owner of The idea Hunter Janice Cardinale, event specialist of The Event Manager Walter Galvao, principal of KG&A Kim Graham, chief shift disturber of Ready2Spark Lara McCulloch-Carter, creative director of Paras Events Paras Mehta, founder and owner of Bliss Events Tara O’Grady, principal of Agendum Inc. Rita Plaskett, and event director and co-owner of Our Forte Events Ashlee Sorochan.

Rather than just sitting and listening, this 2 ½ hour workshop allowed guests to gather around the tables to network, brainstorm and exchange fresh ideas for their upcoming events.

Topi, a networking app that features community chat rooms for events helped users find the exact contacts they’d like to connect with. The 100 lucky attendees of Plan-A-Thon Toronto also learned about the latest technology and developments in the event industry.

It was hell of a hackathon for event planners.
