Celebrities & Musicians Attend Rockstar Hotel 2013 – British Invasion at The Spoke Club
The Spoke Club was the home of Rockstar Hotel 2013, a celebration of all things British, attracting some of the world’s most recognized celebrities and musicians. Parked right outside The Spoke were MINI cars, protected by the Queen’s Guards (or at least someone dressed up as a Queen’s Guard). This was no ordinary night in Toronto.
Rockstar Hotel took place on 3 levels of The Spoke Club, with each level having a different specialty bar. One highlight was The Bulldog Gin bar which had a selection of drinks like Raspberry Fields Forever, Yellow Submarine, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and Twist and Shout. And, what better to accompany Bulldog Gin were British treats, Cadbury Caramel Biscuits and Black Licorice. Rockstar energy drink kept everyone fueled up for the night.
Sponsor, Rimmel London, set up a makeup station where guests were able to get their eyes done dramatically.
The artist gifting suite had clothing from Fred Perry, makeup from Rimmel, and a collection of rock memoirs from Harper Collins.
At 11:30pm, the legendary punk rock band The Stranglers hit the stage, much to the delight of all the guests. They performed an amazing set of their hit songs including “Skin Deep“, “Mercury Rising” and “Walk On By“. Lead singer, Baz Warne added some acid-tongued humour in between songs. He reminded the crowd that The Stranglers turned down free time in L.A. just to be at the event in Toronto. The Stranglers proved that punk is still alive and well.
At midnight British pub fare was served, feeding all of the hungry guests.
It was a bloody good fun time indeed.
