Sara Waxman has done it again! Madame Waxman as Publisher/ Editor in Chief and her son, Adam Waxman as Associate Publisher/ Executive Editor, has put out another edition of DINE Magazine, this time reincarnated as DINE and DESTINATIONS. The launch party of this eleventh issue was held on the evening of October 3, 2017, at Casa Loma. To celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary, this issue has several articles with Canadian content: “Drink in the Pink, Two Guys and a RoseAmong the Pines, a Paddle through Algonquin Park” and of course, “Cuisines of Canada.” It was announced at this event that the magazine is now published in Canada. On the cover, Wendy Crewson, actor and activist, is photographed at Casa Loma’s new restaurant BlueBlood. She is also the subject of the article “I’m with Her.Liona Boyd, who has a mention on page 22, was present at the launch party, as was Wendy Crewson. The drink and food served were in keeping with the luxurious and elegant venue. Passed hors d’oeuvres included Smoked Duck with Cranberry Jam on a Taro Chip, Octopus with Tomato Jam on a Crostini, Jerk Chicken Drumettes with a Mango Chutney and Cheddar Biscuits served with Apple Butter. Plated dishes consisted of Kale Caesar Salad with Wagyu Beef and Tuna Crudo with Pickled Beets. There were three types of taco’s at the food station; mushroom, venison and fish; all served on a fresh corn tortilla. A perfect accompaniment to the delicious food was red and white wines from Jackson Triggs. The signature drink made with Hendricks Gin, and ginger beer served with a slice of cucumber was refreshing. Although the destinations in the magazine are international, the content all starts with the Waxman’s in Toronto. Makes sur to pick up a copy!
