The night’s entertainment started with the Chinese Collective Arts Association (CCAA) performing the “Rise of the Phoenix” dance depicting the unity of the Phoenix and the dragon (“yin and yang”). In honor of the Year of the Dog, Woofjocks and Roselle Doyel of Skate Canada took to the stage for an exceptional performance featuring live dogs doing expert tricks. Taking part in the dog tricks by Woofjocks as well as the traditional Chinese Dragon Dance was Wushu by Storm Performance Team martial arts athletes. Just before dinner, the Yee Hong Active Senior Mandarin Club whose members range in ages from sixty to eighty years old, performed.
