Good Day Hairshop Launches with Special Guest Dragonette

On Thursday November 27, Good Day Hairshop officially opened its doors to the public. As the newest addition to the Kensington Market neighbourhood, the opening party marked the beginning of the city’s next generation of alt-salons.

Too budget conscious for the high-end salons and too hip for the budget/discount salons, Good Day Hair Shop is for anyone who wants high-quality, Instagram-worthy hair styles but at affordable prices.

Upon entering the salon space, guests were immediately greeted by Johnathon Burford, one of the co-founders of Good Day Hairshop, along with Tegan Mierle.

Behind the front desk was the menu of all of the services provided by the alt-salon, such as colours, cuts, and blowouts. Many of the city’s trendsetters and influencers in the fashion, hair, and cosmetic industries arrived at the opening party, looking absolutely spectacular!

The biggest highlight of the evening (no pun intended) was the exciting live performance by Dragonette. The electro-synthpop band performed three songs, one of which was “Pick Up the Phone”, that got everyone grooving and dancing in the salon. After the surprise performance, guests received wonderful swag bags filled with cosmetics, bottles of shampoo and conditioner used in the salon, and a gift certificate that offers $20 off any of the services provided by Good Day Hairshop.
