Honey Jam 2018 Toronto made The Mod Club a busy, exciting place on August 23 filled with young talented performers, music fans and people from the music industry with an audience of friends, families, and proud parents. The up and coming group was comprised of fourteen young talented women who had participated in the Honey Jam 2018 program.
The evening wasn’t a competition but a showcase of talents of singing and dance, and what a wonderful evening it was! The evening was hosted again by the dynamic and entertaining Tika.
Auditions for Honey Jam 2018 were held in June at Rivoli, Toronto called for female singers from all across Canada aged from 14 to 25 and featured all types of music including pop, hip-hop, rock, and country.
Ebonnie Rowe, founder and executive director of Honey Jam is very proud of this sponsored performance program to mentor young talented female artists. Rising artists are provided with education workshops on song writing and performance, launches, attending concerts, vocal and performance coaching and receive promotion on Honey Jam platforms. They also have the chance to work with people in the music industry and have opportunities such as Song Demo sessions at Slaight Music Studios. This year’s group of Honey Jam participants performed a Taste of Honey Jam at the Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto, on August 21.
Thursday, August 23 was a special evening for the fourteen young female artists as this was the Honey Jam Concert. The event was Held at The Mod Club on College Street in Toronto. The venue has two floors with lots of standing room on the main floor and some seats and great views from the second floor. The evening exposed the audience to a wonderful group of young performers with bands, back up dancers, others playing guitarists and pianists. Beautiful music and voices filled the stage with a supportive audience there to encourage and enjoy. It was a dynamic, fun and friendly atmosphere. After all the fourteen artists had performed individually, they came together for the finale. The final song had the group of Honey Jam 2018 performers take turns to sing a collective song. We could feel the bound of friendship created between the Honey Jam participants throughout the evening and during this showcase of talents, especially at the Finale. Everyone present was there to give their full support to these emerging female artists. It was an exciting evening at The Mod Club for music enthusiasts wanting to follow the music careers of these young female performers. With the exposure and promotion of Honey Jam, we bet we’ll be hearing more from these Honey Jam 2018 young musicians! And we look very much forward to that!
