JPEC Jazz Series with Randy Weston at Paintbox
How do you mix Jazz with social responsibility? Well, JPEC and Paintbox Bistro have figured it out. Paintbox is a new restaurant in Regent Park that operates with a social mandate to provide job opportunity training in the community. It’s also a venue that caters to the jazz lover in you. While you are enjoying dinner at Paintbox, music and sultry sounds fill the room and tantalize your ears, a perfectly spent evening on a Saturday night.
Jazz Performance and Education Centre (JPEC), a not-for-profit charitable organization, offers several performances from both local and international well-known Jazz artists. January 11th, Randy Weston was the first performer from the series offered. Randy Weston is a New York jazz pianist that incorporates a mixture of African rhythmic elements with jazz technique that fuses into a fresh and inventive beat. For the rest of the JPEC jazz series go to www.jazzcentre.ca for more information.
JPEC is an organization that gets kudos for capturing the human spirit through music and Paintbox for using the powers of business to alleviate poverty and construct great communities. This partnership evokes passionate ideas to develop and foster creativity and opportunities for neighborhood growth.
