On the rooftop in Toronto`s trendy King Street West, is a one of a kind oasis. Its name is Lavelle. On a warm spring evening, FE had the pleasure of attending the opening of the outdoor space at Lavelle called Le Jardin. This outdoor area has a beautiful pool with cabanas and lounge areas where one can relax. We were quite tempted to go in for a quick dip! Standing there, we saw the most stunning views of the city. We walked around and truly enjoyed the beauty of the Toronto skyline.

The setup of Le Jardin allows for one to drink a fabulous cocktail in the patio area. There are comfy couches to sit and to experience the pleasure of being outside.

Inside Lavelle is a beautiful restaurant and lounge bar. The menu, by Chef Romain Avril (who previously was executive chef at La Societe), has a strong French influence. There is a wide selection of items like Scallop St Jacques, rabbit & foie, east coast oysters, Fogo Island cod, heritage pork tenderloin Choucroute, 18 oz Angus dry aged rib eye and 32-ounce Angus dry aged bone in tomahawk. Lavelle restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The wine menu offers choices from France, Italy, and Canada.

At the launch, we tasted from the snack menu. There were the Lavelle sliders on sesame buns, fried chicken bao with jalapenos, ponzu mayo, kimchi and coriander and the haddock bites with nori, lemon tartare sauce. All were quite delicious.
