Made with Love 2019 Bartenders Cocktail Competition

The Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District in Toronto was the place to be on April 8th from 6 pm to 10 pm. For the past 10 years, Made with Love cocktail competition has been an annual event. Bartenders referred to as Bar chefs, competed to make the best cocktail! The bar chefs were from the Toronto area and were Toronto’s best.
Working with their restaurant team, each bar chef made their own creations with their own mixes. Attendees savoured and sampled the cocktails. Each booth had their own unique tapas and tasty bites to eat along with the cocktail – some were savoury, others sweet. Water stations were located throughout the venue to refresh the palate.
The bartenders were busy! With limited time to chat, they tried their best to smile while making their cocktail to impress the voters! Attendees were given one medal necklace to give to the bar chef who created their favourite cocktail once they’d sampled from all the booths and decided. The happiest bar chefs were those with the most medal necklaces! The cocktails were evaluated on their originality, creativity and flavour balance.
The Fermenting Cellar was the perfect venue – a rustic, airy event space with high ceilings. DJ music set the scene. The event venue was easy to get to by TTC streetcar, and had lots of parking for those with a designated driver!

The two winners of Public’s Choice and Judges’ Choice will represent Toronto at the National Competition to see who are the best bar chefs in Canada! And they have a chance to win one of the ten Made with Love affiliated distilleries.
