台北物超所值價前親民的米炭火燒肉適合肉肉主義好友聚餐 / Mi BBQ Bar Restaurant in Taipei Provides Best Value for Money While Feeding All Your Meat Desires

肉肉主義的你約好三五好友想大口吃烤肉時是選台式烤肉、日式串燒、還真是韓式烤肉呢?是不是每次一踏進日式串燒店,就後悔想吃韓國烤肉,然後反之亦然呢?恭喜您,跟殘編一樣是「用情不專」的花花公子。每每在餐廳吃飯看到菜單,貪心的殘編除了會像餓死鬼菜單全點外,心裡還會再想著菜單上美中不足尚缺的料理。但殘編最近居然吃到一家能一次滿足我所有吃肉肉慾望的「米炭火燒肉餐廳」。

米炭火燒肉在短短3年就開了五家分店,我們造訪的迴龍店是創始店。

As a meat-lover, when you’re with your carnivore friends dreaming of meat, do you opt for Taiwanese Barbecue, Korean BBQ, or Japanese yakitori?

? Do you find yourself thinking about Korean barbecue every time you step into a Japanese-yakitori or teppanyaki restaurant, and vice versa? Congratulations, like myself, you are a playboy/girl. I have serious commitment issues when it comes to food. Hence I do my #ordereverything on the menu whenever I eat out. However, I don’t believe in settling, so I fantasize about shark’s fin and A5 wagyu sushi when I have a piece of A5 Kobe strip steak complete with a piece of pan-fried juicy foie. I’ve recently found a restaurant in Taipei called “Mi Barbecue Bar” that can feed my savage meat cravings all at once. NOMNOM!

In just 3 years, Mi Barbecue has quickly expanded to 5 locations in Taipei; The “Huilong” location that we visited is the first location.

Mi Barbecue Restaurant’s menu is extensive and diversified. In addition to barbecue meat, there’s also skewers, vegetables, deep-fried foods and Mi Barbecue‘s homemade exclusive side dishes. 米炭火燒肉餐廳氣氛熱鬧親民,左邊是廚師們準備食材的開放式廚房,外面圍一圈個人座位,適合同事、哥兒們或是獨自前往的客人;右邊是三張六人座的大桌子,適合團體聚餐,最棒的是我們坐的那桌大桌子的上面竟有三個插座,沒有搶充電的困擾,人人手機都可以吃到飽、拍到爽。桌上擺有殘編最愛的七味粉米炭火燒肉自己打出的鹽巴,比一般燒肉店所搭配的海鹽更細、更配肉

The Mi BBQ restaurant at Taipei‘s Huilong location creates a casual and lively atmosphere. The left side is an open kitchen where the chefs prepare the ingredients, surrounded by a row of single seats. These seats are suitable for colleagues, buddies or guests dining alone. The right side has three large tables with six-seat seats each, ideal for group dinners; the best part is that there are three outlets for charging on the wall of our table (lucky!), allowing us to feed not only ourselves, but also our phones. Instead of regular salt & pepper, the shakers are filled with Japanese shichimi (7-spice blend) and Mi Barbecue‘s homemade salt! Usually, a BBQ restaurant offers sea salt; Mi Barbecue is much finer and powdery than any table salt or sea salt and pairs better with BBQ meat.

店家推薦的「五星級牧場飼養黑毛豬五花」($98)是老闆不惜成本使用的現在最夯的高級活菌豬肉,活菌豬是喝優酪乳長大的,沒有騷味,可以搭配韓式泡菜享用。豬五花肉建議烤到兩面呈金黃色,但是烤肉老手都知道,豬五花容易烤焦黏網。米炭火燒肉老闆特地為了牠做平面的煎盤(看影片),好讓吃到忘我恍神的饕客不留燒焦的遺憾。這道豬肉建議採韓式燒肉吃法,包生菜跟生菜附的蒜片和辣椒,米炭火燒肉也有生菜可以點。

This “Five-star farm-raised pork belly” ($98) is recommended by the restaurant. Mi spares no expense and uses high-quality farm-raised pork that feeds on yogurt. It is odorless and great when paired with kimchi, garlic slices, and chili wrapped in lettuce, the “Korean way.” Our server tells us to grill each side to a golden yellow, but any BBQ pro would know that pork bellies are the easiest to burn and overcook when barbecuing. For this reason, Mi BBQ produced a flat BBQ pan especially for it. Customers will leave with no burning regrets.

熟知殘編Style的讀者,你知道這道是殘編必點的,口水擦擦,準備跟牛先生來場熱烈激情的喇機。米炭火燒肉的牛舌4片$138,比平均市面$198的價錢便宜。只要單面烤到出水,加上蔥花就很好吃了。

“Fall-in-love Beef Tongue” ($138)

Readers who are familiar with my style know that lust follows gluttony whenever I’m exposed to good food. This is the part where I French Mr. “Kao (cow)” with passion. Mi BBQ‘s beef tongue is $138 for 4 pieces, which is cheaper than the average market price of $198. As long as a single side is cooked, the beef tongue is ready to eat. I recommend adding the spring onions offered by the restaurant.

這道是米炭火燒肉的招牌菜,也是殘編的最愛,使用美國安格斯黑牛無骨小排切成薄片,肉片油花分佈均勻美麗、口感香嫩,與殘編日本沖繩島吃的石坦牛有匹敵。因為牛肉品質好,烤到兩面上色即可下肚

This is the Mi BBQ‘s signature dish and my favourite. American Black Angus is cut into thin slices with beautiful, evenly distributed marbling. It is comparable to the in Ishigaki wagyu beef I’ve had in Okinawa, Japan. Because of the superior quality of the meat, it’s ready to eat when both sides are slightly cooked.

這道牛肉也是依個人喜好可以烤到四面上色或六面上色享用。

  • 大口吃肉一定要配一些蔬菜,炭火燒肉蔬菜類選擇多,有洋蔥、青椒、節瓜、馬鈴薯、杏鮑菇、馬鈴薯、明太子山藥、起司地瓜跟玉米,而且是均一價,才$68。

You’re living in your meat feast, but don’t forget the veggies, Mi Barbecue‘s BBQ items also include a variety of vegetable options like onions, green peppers, zucchini, potatoes, mushrooms, sweet potatoes with cheese and corn, all priced at a lucky $68 (both “6” & “8” are lucky numbers in the Chinese culture).

炸物有酥炸雞軟骨丁香魚跟限量的澎湖小卷

Deep-fried food items include Deep-fried chicken cartilage ($78), herring fish ($78) and limited quantity Penghu squid ($98).

米炭火燒肉小菜、湯品 /Side Dishes & Soup

米炭火燒肉的小菜均一價$58,都是店家自己做的。「紅酒釀蕃茄」清爽不酸,單純用紅酒跟糖做醃製,連在座最怕吃酸的男生也讚不絕口。
梅子蘿蔔酸酸甜甜」很適合配著肉吃解膩。
和風牛筋煮」是老闆為了不浪費食材而研發的料理,用店內每天使用的無骨牛小排背後的筋膜所煮出來的料理,很好下飯。

Side dishes & soup:

All side dishes are homemade with Mi BBQ Restaurant‘s own recipe and priced at $58. “Red wine tomatoes” is refreshing and not sour at all. It is simply marinated with red wine and sugar.

Sweet and Sour Plum radish”: As the name promised, this dish is sweet and sour and great for cleaning and refreshing your palate in between greasy meats.

Japanese-style Beef Tendon “:

This beef tendon is a dish creates by the owner in order not to waste the ingredients. Using the beef prepared at the restaurant each day, the chef extracts the “silver skin” (a thin membrane of connective tissue found under the rib) and turns it into a lovely savoury dish that goes well with rice.

老闆大方招待我們的「蛤蜊湯」在湯還沒上桌蛤蜊香就先撲鼻,不用一碗,一顆就滿足了。

This complementary fresh broth is generously offered by the restaurant. We smell the aromas coming our way before even seeing it.

Q彈肥美全裸性感白蝦8尾」($168)是店家貼心的幫我們剝好殼,蝦子不害臊的與我們坦誠相見的一刻。
晶瑩剔透澎湖現撈冰卷 (真的很限量)($198)
「冰卷」是澎湖才有的季節性中卷,非常Q脆限量,可生烤兩吃,但是因為處理方式用心而且稍微川燙過,生吃也不會有腥味,食用時搭配一起給的阿里山只採根部磨出來的芥末,增添不少風味。這個食材只有夏天有,我們吃得到算幸運。
蟹膏生干貝」($98)一份是兩顆超大的生干貝上面加蟹膏,海鮮味重,建議愛吃海鮮、敢吃生魚片的人點。

“Bouncy Naked Shrimp 8 pcs” ($168):

The restaurant thoughtfully pre-peels off the shell, and the shrimp sunbathes nude on the grill.

“Crystal-clear Penghu Squid (really limited)” ($198)

“Squid” is seasonal and unique to Penghu. It is very fresh and crisp and can be eaten both directly or cooked. The restaurant blanches is first so there is no fishy smell of raw food. This squid is served with wasabi from Alishan. Mi BBQ only picks out the roots to make this wasabi. The result is more flavors and less hotness. This ingredient is only available in the summer, we are lucky to try.

Happiness-in-1-bite scallop w/tomalley” ($98):

Two jumbo scallops are served raw on a spoon, topped with crab tomalley. This dish has a strong seafood taste. Recommended to seafood and sashimi lovers only.

串燒有雞肉、魚肉、香腸跟平常要去日式居酒屋或串燒才吃的到的「焼き鳥」單品,包括「七里香鳳尾串」、「一咬噗汁腿肉串」,還有日本名產手羽先(雞翅中段)。
「七里香鳳尾串」:
米炭火燒肉的雞屁股是特別用刀鋒,將尾骨荷爾蒙管去掉除腥的真正「七里香」。殘編雖然不怕「屁味」,但是具備實驗精神,騙一位不敢吃屁股也不敢吃任何內臟的同行朋友吃,結果他竟吃得不亦樂乎 (看影片),一串接一串,還直喊「好香脆!」完全沒發現自己被惡搞(XD)。
殘編住過名古屋米炭火燒肉的「名古屋取經手羽先」是雞翅中段,比一般的中段雞翅大,鮮嫩多汁,還真的不輸名古屋「世界」臭屁的那座「山」!

Skewers:

Skewers include chicken, fish, sausages and “yakitori “(chicken) items that are usually only available at a Japanese izakaya or restaurant. Some of the yakitori items are “chicken tail (butt) “, “Juicy chicken thighs“, and a specialty of Nagoya, Japan: chicken wings. Mi BBQ uses wingettes (middle part of chicken wings) for this dish.

Chicken Tail (Butt)”:

Chicken tails at Mi require delicate preparation. For each butt, the chefs remove the hormonal tube in the tailbone to rid the butt smell. I fart a lot so I’m not afraid of “smelly butts”, but for experimentation purposes, I trick the friend who’s terrified of all exotic foods or “delicacies.” He’s never had any animal organs or any meat other than steak or chicken breasts. He tries a skewer of chicken butts after another and keeps shouting “so good! So crisp!” Completely unaware of the prank (XD): watch video

I’ve spent 6 months in Nagoya, Japan and the wings at Mi BBQ Bar reminds me of their famed chicken wings from Yama-xxxx“‘ restaurant.

  • 大口吃肉一定要大口喝酒才對味。米炭火燒肉的酒類飲品跟燒肉一樣多元化,除了啤酒外還有日式清酒梅酒韓式燒酒。各種門派都可以有自己的選擇。
    在氣氛佳、食物美(加上還能充電!)的狀態下,連超沒耐性的殘編都一坐坐了3小時,還點了第二輪的肉!

Great food must be washed down with thirst-quenching booze. Alcoholic options at Mi BBQ are as diverse as the food. In addition to beer, there are Japanese sake, plum wine, and Korean Soju. You can stick to your “meat gang” and drink them your way.

Good atmosphere and great food cure my serious ADHD. Before I know it, we’ve already been sitting for 3 hours, and ordered the second round of irresistible meat!

甜點有「甜點控最愛煉乳麻糬」($58)還有「起士地瓜」($68),麻糬有八片,用煉乳跟花生粉烤過很好吃。起士地瓜是地瓜泥加起司,包在鋁箔紙內烤過後再攪拌吃,吃到喉結的我們也抗拒不了誘惑,把它幹光光。

Desserts include “Rice-cake for the Sweet Tooth” ($58) and “Sweet Potatoes with Cheese” ($68)

There are eight pieces of rice cakes in one order, and it is delicious to dip this hot and freshly grilled dessert with condensed milk and peanuts.

Sweet potato is mashed and wrapped in foil with cheese. After cooking, our server unwraps it and mixes it well together. The aromas of baked sweet potato and a tantalizing glimpse of stringy melted cheese make this dessert irresistible, even when we’re already over-stuffed!

  • 咱們5:30開始就到場,竟然吃到晚上10:00才離開,遠超過我的灰姑娘睡眠時間!朋友不多的殘編已經很久沒有這樣開心徹夜聊天吃飯了!
    米炭火燒肉帶來與好朋友的好時光是無價的!有空一定要去坐坐吃吃喝喝!

We arrived at 5:30 pm when Mi BBQ opens its restaurant doors for dinner and left after 10:00 pm, way past my Cinderella curfew and beauty sleep time! Since I have no friends, the night feels very special and happy! The great time we get is priceless.

If you and your friends are looking for a great time with good food in Taipei, I highly recommend Mi BBQ Bar/ Restaurant.
