Paramount Fine Foods Opens 15th Location in Yorkville
Paramount Fine Foods is Canada’s fastest growing Middle Eastern restaurant chain with fifteen locations across southern Ontario.
Its newest restaurant at the corner of Bay Street and Cumberland Avenue opened its doors to friends, family and media on Saturday May 8, 2015 and Sunday May 9, 2015.
All of the menu items are made fresh in house daily. The halal meat is Ontario Raised, and hormone free.
In fact, this is the first full-service halal restaurant in Yorkville and features an open kitchen with a wood-burning oven to bake fresh bread (pita) to order.
An interior with warm wood tones and a glass wall waterfall fit in with the neighbourhood.
Authentic Lebanese and Egyptian recipes using healthy and nutritious products, made with exotic flavours are the hallmarks of Paramount Fine Foods. General Manager Hady Al-Haidari offered us a sample plate of appetizers including Falafel, Hummus, Tabbouleh and Moutabbal (grilled eggplant, blended with tahini sauce, drizzled with virgin olive oil) accompanied by freshly baked pita. Delicious!
Next we ordered a Mixed Grill platter: BBQ Beef skewers, Shish Tawouk (chicken skewers) and Kafta skewers (ground beef mixed with exotic Arabic spices). I ordered the platter with basmati rice but my friend preferred the garden salad. The flavours were amazing.
We also tried the Lamb skewers and flavourful Sujuk (spicy sausage) on the side but not because there wasn’t enough meat in our Mixed Grill plate!
Hady told us that he would really like to cater the local business crowd and I think the sandwiches at Paramount Fine Foods (Falafel, Chicken and Beef Shawarma, Chicken and Beef Burger, and Kafta) will do just this.
Of course, no meal would be complete without dessert. We tasted each and every Baklawa on the premises but couldn’t pick a favourite. They were all great, especially with the fresh mint tea!
