PARTYSKIRTS Launches at Mendocino
Vancouver-based fashion designers (and sisters) Lauren Armstrong and Mariel Armstrong held the launch party of their new made in Canada fashion line, PartySkirts, at Mendocino‘s 825 Queen West location in Toronto.
PartySkirts can be dressed up as eveningwear with heels or dressed down to wear daytime with flats or boots. For Fall/Winter 2015, the skirts are available in vibrant jewel tones like deep sea blue, sapphire blue, dragon’s red, pink sapphire, marsala (burgundy) and emerald. They come in both the “classic” length (short) and “lady” length (long) and look great with all body types.
The skirts are made with silk taffeta which is custom dyed in Korea and is then brought to Vancouver to be manufactured.
At the launch party, FE spoke with Lauren and Mariel, who revealed that it was their mom who made the first skirts for them ten years ago. They received so many compliments over the years that three years ago they finally decided to make it a line.
Lauren and Mariel are quite excited about their recent collaboration with Teen Vogue, their work with Keds, and their upcoming appearance on Dragon’s Den Season 10.
They both agreed that it has been amazing working together as sisters and partners in this family business.
Guests enjoyed appetizers from Elle Cuisine, which included grilled cheese, deep fried mac and cheese balls and tomato bocconcini skewers.
PartySkirts is available exclusively at Mendocino.
