Our athletes work hard on the ice and we want to give them a break in their off-time,” said Dave Pagnotta, President, Editor-in-Chief of TFP Media and Fourth Period Magazine. “The World Cup of Hockey is a stellar event in Toronto and we are proud to partner with amazing sponsors to create a memorable lounge experience.”

Today Evolution EPR(Evolution Public Relations’ Player’s Penthouse for the World Cup of Hockey was a welcome respite from the grueling schedule of the tournament starting this weekend. Libations were provided by Steam Whistle and Campo Viejo as well as a Jack Daniel’s bar featuring Old Fashioneds made with lemon oil and a signature simple syrup. Nibbles consisted of charcuterie plates and bespoke chocolates by Chocoloachocola. The Wasabi peas, peanuts and dark chocolate covered espresso beans were crowd favourites. American Crew had a barbershop set up where players and agents alike could get a trim, haircut or even a shave if necessary. Shiseido hydrating face cream for men was also on display as well as innovative wooden pocket squares by Baffi alongside socks by local designer Jason Meyers.

But the bespoke smoking jackets by King & Bay and handmade shoes by Shumaker were the real stars of the show. Whether you wanted peak, notch or shawl lapels, the smoking jackets on display were definite head-turners likely to show up in more than a few players’ wardrobes this season. Shumaker makes shoes for discerning men and women who eschew generic styles with unique designs and patterns made by a single family. There was also a gaming lounge with NHL 17 on PlayStation 4 where players could play as themselves against each other from deep wing-backed chairs. It wasn’t just men’s products and services being provided. Make-up touch ups were from Revlon were available from CND and Nuceity in case anyone was feeling left out.

Taking place at a private location in downtown Toronto, players will be shuttled to a private location to partake in a gifting and experiential lounge that will leave them and their agents walking out with gifting catering to the modern man. Items confirmed to be gifted to players include custom smoking jackets, bespoke shoes, high-end pocket squares, tie clips and men’s facial products. Services onsite include grooming service, juice bar, complimentary food and beverage and a Fourth Period Magazine portrait studio among other onsite services.
