Right to Play Ball 2014 – A Night with Russell Peters and Toronto Athletes
Sports and Play came together at the Right to Play Ball fundraiser for Right to Play at the Shangri La Hotel. This third annual charity event promotes this organization which uses the power of games to empower children around the globe. Through participation in sports, Right to Play helps almost one million children weekly in more than 20 countries.
This event hosted by journalist Glen Baxter brought together an inspiring assembly of the city’s top social, sport and lifestyle personalities. Founder Johann Olav Koss introduced this year’s Athlete Ambassadors in attendance which included Canadian Olympic athletes Patrick Chan, and Rosie MacLennan, Toronto Argonauts Jonathan Hood, Damon Allen and former Toronto Maple Leafs and hockey legend, Tie Domi. Sponsored for the second time by MasterCard Worldwide, this year’s fundraiser featured Canadian comedian Russell Peters is the role of DJ! His selection of ‘old school’ tunes, as well as his passion for hip hop music, made sure that almost everyone was on the dance floor and ‘played’ well past midnight…
