Riobel Celebrates its 20th Anniversary at St. James Cathedral Centre
Riobel Inc., a leading designer of faucets and shower systems in North America, celebrated its 20th Anniversary at St. James Cathedral Centre in Toronto with a “hot and cold” themed evening.
Upon entering the venue, we were warmly greeted by Riobel‘s founder and President Mario Bélisle.
The space was white and futuristic in design, transforming the church into a perfect party venue. We enjoyed the catering by Daniel et Daniel. Creative passed hors d’oeuvres included: artichoke tostada, tuna pastrami, mini French onion soup in puff pastry, petit tourtiere (made with beef and pork), Reuben potato skins, candied tomato on a stick, Cambozola en croute, and buffalo chicken crackling. In keeping with the theme of the evening, there was a “cold” seafood bar with oysters, cold-roasted wasabi crusted salmon, jumbo shrimp; and a “hot” bar with French lamb chop, braised short rib sliders, chicken yakitori, and mini beef burgers.
Sensual male and female acrobatic pole dancers, and a line up of surprise performers entertained us throughout the night.
Luc Lefebvre, the National Sales Manager, spoke about the history of Riobel, which had started in Montreal and had now grown to 120 employees and 100,000 square feet.
Then the outdoor ice bar was opened, serving vodka sorbet drinks.
To keep us warm at the ice bar, we were given a Riobel bag filled with faux fur shawls and gloves (to keep!).
We were introduced to two Olympic athletes that Riobel proudly sponsors: Three-time World Champion and Sochi 2014 silver medalist freestyle skier, Mikaël Kingsbury, and Christel Hamel, a member of Canada National Freestyle Skiing Team, who were both in attendance to meet and greet with the guests.
Later in the evening we were treated to assorted mini donuts/ beignets filled with Oreo cookie, coconut cream, lemon, pistachio, peanut butter and chocolate.
At 9pm the big reveal happened. We were the first to see Riobel’s new upscale Venty Collection.
It was a wonderful evening, and all of us celebrated a Canadian company’s well-deserved success.
