SNAP! 2015, the annual photography auction & fundraiser that benefits the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT), was held at the Bram & Bluma Appel Salon.

This years’ group of talented photographers included Vivian Maier, who was the subject of the documentary about her newly discovered works and is now considered one of the best street photographers.

During the live auction, the Maier piece, “Chicago (Two Sailors on Street)” raised just under $5,000.00 for ACT.

Other favourites from the live auction included Patrick Lightheart‘s “Realness“, Ryan Schude‘s “Zach Stratis“, and Asia Kepka‘s “Home Movie“.

There was also a silent auction area, which featured great pieces like “Corset Pear” by Toronto’s Daniel Alvarado and “White Dress” by Shayne Gray.

Among the attendees were Canadian Idol judge and music manager, Jake Gold and interior designer, Tommy Smythe.

The catering was provided by Eatertainment and was quite delicious: sweet and sour tofu on ramen noodles, salmon on a chickpea patty, field mushrooms with ricotta and kale, quail egg on kettle chip, risotto, mac and cheese poppers, Thai mini chicken in a waffle cone and smoked meat sliders.

Since 2002, SNAP! has raised over two million dollars for ACT programs which help those who are living with HIV/AIDS by providing education for HIV prevention.
