The inaugural Spring Fling “Sip, Savour & Enjoy” Art Battle in support of The Kidney Foundation of Canada brought together great food, great drinks and great art at the Artscape Wychwood Barns.

Six young very talented artists competed for recognition via ARTSCORE, a computerized voting system. There was also a Silent Auction area with proceeds going to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. The artists painted to loud up-tempo beat music that continued for the duration of the Fling -‘though not one was dancing’. While watching the acrylic creations, the patrons bought tickets and had access to an extensive selection of craft beers, wine, and appetizers. There were so many types of beer, even when I stayed for the whole event with my assistant, we could not try them all. The selection we did try proved to be exceptional and would recommend all of them.

Beer:

Wellington Brewery
Beau’s All Natural
Steam Whistle
SideLaunch Brewery
Junction Craft
Amsterdam Brewery
Mill Street
Kensington Brewery

Wine, Spirits ,Coffee:

Majestic Wine
PMA Spirits
Doi Chaang Coffee
Creekside Estates
Rosewood Wine

The were seven food venders offering small portions of appetizers. Hence the ratio of food to alcoholic beverages ensured that the party was a very happy one, especially when the evening came to an end. The dishes where stylishly presented, it was obvious that the chefs spent time creating the visually pleasing dishes. Wychwood Barns is a great venue for this event combined with the art entertainment, music and all the outstanding micro brews made the evening a whole lot of fun.
