Due to its success in 2013, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau launched the second “Taste Taiwan” campaign in September 2014.

Three award-winning chefs were selected to take part in an eight-day culinary tour of Taiwan: Chef Anthony Jacquet of The Whisper Restaurant and Lounge in Los Angeles, Chef Jared Case of Park Grill in Chicago and our own Stuart Cameron, an International Chef from Melbourne, Australia but now working for Icon Legacy Hospitality Group in Toronto.

Their visits to Taiwan‘s fine restaurants, produce markets and street food vendors were filmed and presented in a thirty minute documentary which was premiered at the “Taste Taiwan” Culinary Event at the recently opened NAO Restaurant (of Icon Legacy Group) in Toronto on December 9,2014.

One fortunate individual who attended the event won an opportunity to travel to Taiwan, the heart of Asia, to have his/her own culinary adventure!

At the end of the “Taste Taiwan” trip, each chef was asked to create a signature dish based on their experience.

At the “Taste Taiwan” event in Toronto, Chef Stuart Cameron presented his creation inspired by his visit to Taiwan: crispy house tofu. Other scrumptious appetizers served include tuna tartare, hamachi and a dumping in oxtail broth, each one was delicious! I only wish I had more than one of each to taste at the event! Luckily, NAO Restaurant will be serving Chef Cameron‘s Taiwanese dish from January 5 to February 5, 2015! Guests who order the crispy house tofu dish will also receive a copy of the “Taste Taiwan” documentary.
