Teddy Bear Affair 2014 Viva Italia Raises Funds for Children
Teddy Bear Affair 2014, themed Viva Italia, was a great night celebrating all things Italian. With the help of patron sponsors CIBC and CGI, this year’s event successfully raised $1.7 million dollars. Funds raised from the night support the Children’s Aid Foundation’s programs to help kids across Canada overcome trauma caused by child abuse and neglect.
From Italian wine, custom-designed Italian menu by celebrity chef Fabio Viviani, to Italian décor, the gala showcased the very best of Italy.
BMW Financial Services sponsored 8 adorable collector Italian teddy bears including a Caesar bear designed by Susan Conacher, a Donatella bear by Joanne Cleveland, a Harlequin bear by Sue Burgan, a Leonardo da Vinci bear by Lydia Massarelli, a Pavarotti bear by Lesley Mallett, a Columbina bear by Shane Elliot, Marco the Gondolier bear by Sharon Edwards and Fabio the Italian Chef bear by Dianne Blencoe.
Guests enjoyed live entertainment by Montreal Rhapsody Orchestra, participated in live art, and purchased teddy bears for a chance to win one of the three amazing raffle prizes: a18 karat white gold “Paisley” Chandelier earrings set with 2.60-carat round diamonds, valued at $20,340; a Men’s Perrelet Moonphase watch valued at $7,362 and a 18 karat white gold and diamond “Icicle” cuff set valued at $7,063, all donated by Mindham Fine Jewellery.
Live auction items featured escapes to Italy, France, New York, and much more. Silent auction items including a great selection of collectible art, getaways and Men & Women’s luxuries were also available for bidding throughout the night.
