The 17th annual Eat to the Beat (Eat to the Beat 2012) @ Roy Thomson Hall

The 17th annual Eat to the Beat was held at the Roy Thomson Hall on Tuesday, Oct 16, 2012. The event brought together sixty of Canada’s top female chefs who donated their time & talent to raise money for Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada – a not-for-profit organization that offers free peer support to those who are coping with breast cancer.

The evening featured silent auction, wine, premium beer & spirits, and way too much amazing sweet & savoury food.
Breast cancer survivors were there to model fun, edible food-inspired corsets that they have created.

A few of our favourites from the menus are the Cremini mushroom caps stuffed with Cognac infused chicken liver pâté, lingonberry compote & gorgonzola straws by Chef Kathryn BlackburnMarlene Carreio (Woodbine Entertainment Group); the Tamalitos by Chef Rossy Earle & Jose Arato (Pimenton Spanish and Mediterranean Fine Foods); the Devils Horseback- roasted, port stewed prunes wrapped in bacon by Chef Alexandra Feswick (Samuel J. Moore); the Mar Hor – savoury pork & peanut on a sweet slice of fresh pineapple, garnished with spicy Thai chili & cilantro by Chef Nuit Regular (Khao San Road); and the Butternut Squash Terrine prepared with butternut squash, apples and celery root with a pecan maple salsa verde by Jayne’s.
