Well Dressed for Spring 2015
On February 25, 2015, Holt Renfrew and Women in Capital Markets partnered together for the fourth annual Well Dressed for Spring fundraising event for the Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation.
To start the evening in style, guests enjoyed a wine reception with passed hors d’oeuvres from Holts Café: bbq chicken potato skins, tuna tartar, beef and ginger spring rolls, and more!
Business and glamour came together at this networking reception.
At 7:30 pm, attendees took their seats for the celebrity fashion show emceed by Beverly Thomson, co-host of Canada AM with fashion commentary by Lisa Tant, vice president of store experience for Holt Renfrew.
Each model, media personality or financial leader, had a story to tell about their first-hand experience with cancer and the Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation. Sandy Gibson, son of Wellspring founder Anne Armstrong Gibson, was the first one on the runway and got all the ladies hearts pounding! Frank Ferragine of Breakfast Television lost a brother to cancer at a very young age. Brian Price’s early diagnosis of leukemia led to his slight stature, the perfect size to be a coxswain of the 2008 gold medal and 2012 silver medal Canadian Olympic Rowing Team. He pulled both medals out of his designer satchel for all to see! For the first time, Tish Vigna, Manager of BMO conference and event centre made her current struggles with cancer public.
Elle Canada held a contest for cancer survivors, the winner of which was the final inspirational fashion model for the evening’s show.
Wellspring is a network of community-based support centers that offer services to meet the emotional, social and spiritual need of people living with cancer.
Because they provide their services free of charge to over 3,000 people in the GTA each year, events such as Well Dressed for Spring as well as independent donors and corporate partners are so important.
With the purchase of $200/ticket, each guest enjoyed a private luxury shopping experience complete with a $100 Holt Renfrew gift card.
Ten percent of all of the night’s sales also went to the Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation.
