Cactus Club Café Toronto Flagship Opens TODAY!

Cactus Club Café Toronto Flagship Media Tasting & Preview

“It’s going to be very exciting to see our guests’ reactions when they enter the restaurant for the first time!” said Colin Denton, General Manager of Cactus Club Café.

It was, indeed, exciting.

Occupying over 15,200 square feet of downtown’s prime First Canadian Place location, Cactus Club Café’s new Toronto flagship is unlike any of its other 27 locations.
The restaurant has its own elevator, and the space is insane.

With a cutting edge design, the restaurant incorporates a Katie’s Bar (named after the Kate Moss painting by artist Mr. Brainwash on the wall) on the main floor, a Rob Feenie Dining Room and Lounge area that seats 100 on the second level, and The Deck, a rooftop patio that is soon to become Toronto’s hottest hangout. The whole restaurant has a total of 500 seats.

The walls hang quite a collection of artworks including pieces by Canadian and international artists like Andy Warhol, Mr. Brainwash, Jean Michel-Basquiat, and more.

Award-winning celebrity chef Rob Feenie (Iron Chef Champion) and his culinary team use fresh, sustainable ingredients to create quality food. Each dish is globally inspired yet uses simple ingredients.

Short ribs are double braised and served with celeriac puree and potato pavé, drizzled with port wine jus.
Lamb chops are served with curry sauce, topped with mango mint chutney.
Ceviche is a mix of sustainably harvested prawns, Lois Lake steelhead, red onions, cilantro, Thai basil, mint, and nuoc charm.
Tuna tataki uses Ocean Wise albacore and is lightly seared, served with pine nuts, papaya slaw, yuzu vinaigrette, garnished with micro cilantro.
Szechuan chicken lettuce wrap has strong Asian flavours, sweet and chili served with wonton crisps and peanuts.

My favourite, butternut squash ravioli, is prepared with mascarpone cheese and truffle butter.

Exclusive to Cactus Club Café’s First Canadian Place location are Chef Rob Feenie’s Ocean Wise Lingcod Cocotte prepared with truffle butter and served with roasted mushrooms, pearl onions, and brioche croutons; Duck Confit with double smoked bacon, braised lentils, baby frisée salad and soy-truffle vinaigrette; Sablefish in peking duck broth with shiitake mushrooms, asparagus and fingerling potatoes; Rob’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Swiss cheese, sambal mayo, tomato, lettuce, pickle and onion; and Feenie’s Beef Duo, a combination of a perfectly cooked AAA tenderloin with the double braised short ribs, served on a bed of celeriac puree with potato pavé and port wine jus.

Cactus Club Café has been in business for 27 years with its first location being in North Vancouver. Cactus has grown into 28 locations that span both British Columbia and Alberta over the past 27 years. Toronto is Cactus Club Café’s first eastern location, and we can totally see why it is growing so fast across Canada.

Cactus Club Café officially opens today at 5 pm. It is located at 77 Adelaide Street West and will be serving lunch and dinner daily.

Cactus Club Café hours: Sunday to Wednesday 11:00 am to 1:00 am, Thursday to Saturday 11:00 am to 1:30 am
