Farzi Café ( a global chain of Indian cuisine in 19 countries ) has opened its first Canadian location at Mississauga‘s Square One Shopping Centre‘s Food District. It was founded by Masterchef India Judge Zorawar Kalra, aka “the Prince of Indian Cuisine.” His father, Jiggs Kalra, is affectionately known as the “Czar of Indian Cuisine” and was recently inducted into the International Food & Beverage Gourmet Hall of Fame.

The definition of Farzi means “creating an illusion,” and this perfectly describes how the tapas-style dishes are prepared and presented. The chefs use molecular gastronomy to create palate-pleasing cuisine and creative presentation, which is a blend of traditional and modern Indian cuisine. The end result is a very delicious take on Indian flavours.
The restaurant decor is very hip and inviting. It’s a great place to get together with fellow foodies, friends and families.

There was an abundance of dishes to try from their menu at the media preview event. They were all so scrumptious.

Stuffed with gruyere cheese and spiced minced lamb

  • Amritsari Halibut:

Crumb fried halibut with a green pea mash curry leaves pachari

  • Seared Wagyu Slider:

Wagyu carpaccio with garlic mushrooms and caramelized onions

  • Butter Chicken Bao:

Butter chicken with chilli mayo on a layered steamed bun

After trying all of these dishes, our bellies were full, but we managed to make room for the irresistible dessert menu.

Award-winning mixologist Din Jusuf crafted a cocktail menu using the signs of the zodiac.
Some of the cocktails that we sampled that evening were Aries- Mesh Cocktail: Dillion’s gin, pineapple blossom, coconut kombucha, homemade falernum, and coconut water.
Scorpio-Scorpion’s Chalice: Popcorn & ghee washed cognac, champagne, anise essence
Gemini-Harmonized Mithuna: Jasmin homogenized Roku Gin, ylang-ylang cordial, resiling cordial and Indian tonic water.

They also have a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks, including Berry Crush (Passion fruit juice, cranberry juice, fresh berries, and pomegranate syrup) and Pitta (Lychee juice, lime juice, coconut cream and sweet chai by Mira)
