Upcoming Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival 2021 Goes Virtual, Just as Exciting! 2021多倫多Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+電影節數位化更精彩

The 31st edition of Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival is taking place this year digitally from May 27th- June 6th, 2021. There will be 143 films shown on Inside Out‘s streaming platform. The Festival‘s opening film is the Canadian premiere of Natalie Morales‘ award-winning socially distant platonic love story, Language Lessons. Closing the Festival will be Charli XCX’s Documentary Alone Together will be Closing the Festival. Tickets and passes holders can stream both films live. Tickets and pass holders also get to see the Premiere films on demand afterwards as well. ‘Spotlight On Canadafilms will be available for free to audiences in Ontario through the Festival‘s platform, sponsored by CBC.

The excitement starts with the virtual launch week, taking place from May 3rd-7th, 2021, where Canada’s Drag Race winner Priyanka will be hosting a daily themed programming spotlight on sections of the film program; (which can be found at: insideout.ca). In addition, there will be daily giveaways via the Festival‘s official social media, including a grand prize stay at the Hyatt Hotel in Toronto.

Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival 2021 Documentary highlights:

Documentary highlights premieres include YES I AM – THE RIC WEILAND STORY, FANNY: THE RIGHT TO ROCK, Peruvian activist film DRAG INVASION, which examines an LGBTQ community in Peru faced with extreme conservative religious culture, who find empowerment and mobilization in watching episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Pitch, Please!short film pitch competition (which has international competitors presenting their two-minute pitch to the jury and audience) will take place virtually on June 5th at 2:00 PM during the Festival. Award winners for the main film categories, which will be revealed on the opening weekend. Audiences have the opportunity to view the winning films throughout the entire Festival. The winners of the Pitch, Please! Competition, as well as audience award winners, will be announced on June 6th.
The Film Forum will also take place during the Festival.
