When the One of a Kind Show advertising starts in November, we all know it’s nearing the holiday season. It’s the time when we can start thinking about gifts and decorations and when we can buy something to treat ourselves!
There is something for everyone at the show which runs for nearly two weeks, whether you’re interested in unique clothing, jewelry, hats, scarves, belts, skincare or cookies. There are lots of children’s clothing at this year’s show including adorable little dresses sewn with hard-to-get materials or from repurposed materials such as t-shirts, baby gifts and accessories. Vendors come from all across Canada and part of the USA. Lots of clothing vendors are from Montreal and other cities in Quebec…so an excellent opportunity to see the avant-garde Quebec fashion. .. and to practice your French if you so wish.
The show offers a detailed guide to find all the booths, helping you find exactly what you’re looking for. All the information is available online for you to plan your visit. The Rising Stars section allows you to see the products of new vendors and to speak to them about their trade. You can actually talk to any of the vendors about their artistic craft, they’re happy to share their interest and talents.
Whether you’re there to browse for gift ideas or have specific things to buy, the One of a Kind show is the ideal place to spend a few hours with a friend or alone.
Each One of a Kind show includes one late night. Thursday, November 29th was the late night for this season. on that day, the show is open until 11 pm with free parking after 5 pm, complimentary coat check and a bar where you can purchase drinks. A perfect girls’ night out or time with your mom and sister or alone to get the job done!
The main stage had fashion shows showcasing vendors’ clothing, workshops and demonstrations. There’s a food area with a variety of food trucks to recharge your batteries, a café and bar area. A beautiful holiday tree surrounded by sample vendors’ produces welcomes visitors near the front entry.
