Canada’s Baking and Sweets Show 2015 Showcases Sweet Art Creations

Canada’s Baking and Sweets Show 2015 was held at the Toronto Congress Centre and this year’s theme was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (story written by Roald Dahl).

For those who love their treats, this was the place to be. There were demonstration classes, hands-on classes and samples of desserts to taste.

The 5th Annual Great Bake-Off was held all weekend for home bakers who contributed apple recipes. The professional baking competition was where wedding cakes and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory cakes were judged. The cakes were quite spectacular.

At the booths, there was products for bakers and all kinds of pastries to purchase.

Baked goods & sweet arts included Doo Z Doh, (an edible playdough), No Bake Boozy Bites, Mary McLeod’s shortbread, cupcakes in amazing flavours, carved vegetable centrepieces, spun sugar centrepieces, coconut croissants.

The themed cakes that really stood out were The Simpsons cake, the Converse Shoe cake, the Walking Dead cake, and a slew of stunning wedding cakes.

Celebrity headliners were Anna Olson, Duff Goldman, Gale Gand, and the Le Cordon Bleu Chefs

It was one sweet afternoon.
