The 22nd Annual Cathay Ball (Cathay Ball 2013) was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to raise funds for the Mon Sheong Foundation. The theme of the elegant event was “An Evening in Rome“.
Among the notable attendees were Michael Chan, Ontario Minister for Tourism and Culture and CTV news reporter and host of Lifeline, Pauline Chan, who co-hosted the gala.
The food served was mainly Italian cuisine with a few delectable Asian specialties offered such as coconut shrimp and spring rolls.
There was also a silent auction which gave bidders an opportunity to win Hermes scarves, Pierre Laurent watches, Rémy Martin Cognac, Harry Rosen gift cards and wine tasting certificates.
The Mon Sheong Foundation serves the needs of the Chinese community, providing Ontario’s first health care facility for Chinese seniors, Meals -on-Wheels for Chinese elderly, funded long term-care centres and Chinese heritage schools.
