ICFF( Italian Contemporary Film Festival‘s Lavazza Drive-In Film Festival will be held at Toronto‘s Ontario Place from July 20-31. A virtual press conference took place in front of the massive film screen being built at Ontario Place, Cristiano de Florentiis (ICFF Artistic Director), Lenny Lombardi (ICFF board member and President/CEO of CHIN Radio) and Paul Golini (ICFF Board President) all spoke with excitement about the festival.

The Lavazza Drive-In Film Festival 汽車電影節將於7月20日至31日在多倫多的Ontario Place廣場舉行。相關單位在Ontario Place正在建造的大型電影屏幕前舉辦虛擬新聞發表會，Cristiano de Florentiis（ICFF藝術總監）、 Lenny Lombardi（ICFF董事會成員兼CHIN Radio總裁/執行長）和Paul Golini（ICFF董事會主席）在會議上充滿興奮的致詞。

• “I love the social aspect of the festival, speaking with actors and directors,”

says Cristiano de Florentiis.. (in these times) “How do you make the festival social again? This is an experiment… create interaction with people”. Lenny Lombardi added, “The is the opportunity for people to come together… finally go out”.

Cristiano de Florentiis表示：「我喜歡電影節時能與演員和導演社交的機會。” （「在防疫期間裡） 如何讓今年ＩＣＦＦ電影節一樣社交化？這是一個實驗。。。創造與人們的互動的機會」 Lenny Lombardi補充道：「這是一個讓我們終於可以終於出門同聚一堂的機會 。」

• Each night of the festival will feature a different country (Canada, US, Italy,

France, China, Russia, Brazil, and India) who have been hardest hit by the pandemic. The selected films range in genres from drama, comedy, action, and musicals. These films will not easily be seen on any streaming service but will be visually appealing on the big drive-in screen. There will be a pre-show with a short film, followed by the main movie. There will be a maximum of 200 cars per screening. Pizza Nova will offer an app to allow for refreshments (including their pizza and Lavazza’s coffee) to be delivered directly to the vehicles. The audio for the film will be through CHIN Radio AM 1540. There will be Q and A each night with actors and directors either live or live streamed.

今年的電影節的每晚將有一個新型冠狀病毒疫情最嚴重的國家的戲，包括：加拿大、美國、義大利、法國、中國、俄羅斯、巴西和印度。所選電影的類型從戲劇、喜劇、動作到音樂劇都有。這些影片在任何串流媒體平台上都不易找到，但在超大螢幕上播放反而過癮。每場電影播放前將會用一支短片做開場。每場最多能容納200輛車。 Pizza Nova將開放參與者使用手機ＡＰＰ點菜，貴賓可以輕易讓工作人員將他們的比薩和Lavazza咖啡等等直接送到車子裡。電影的音訊將藉由CHIN Radio AM 1540傳播。每晚將有現場或直播與演員和導演的Q＆A問與答時間。

Opening Film /  開幕之夜電影：The Cuban

The opening film (representing Canada) on July 20 is the Toronto premiere of The Cuban, directed by Sergio Navaretta. During the press conference, Navaretta noted the nostalgic feeling of having a premiere at this unique Drive-In. The Cuban stars Oscar-winning actor Louis Gossett Jr. as a Cuban musician with Alzheimer’s living in a nursing home and his friendship with his caregiver, a pre-med student, played by Ana Golja.

於7月20日代表加拿大的開幕影片「The Cuban」是在多倫多首映。導演Sergio Navaretta在新聞發表會上，表示在這次獨特的汽車電影節中首映他的作品有懷舊的感覺。The Cuban卡司包括奧斯卡獎得主演員小路易斯·歌塞特（Louis Gossett Jr.）主演一位患有阿茲海默症、住在療養院的古巴音樂家與Ana Golja飾演的護理師之間的友誼。

• There will be a special “Focus on Italy” series with screenings of four

contemporary Italian films: Tomorrow’s a New Day/ Domani e un ultra Giorno, If You Love Me/ Se mi vuoi bene (starring Claudio Bisio), I Hate Summer/Odio l’estate (International Premiere) and the closing night’s film If Only/Magari (Canadian Premiere).

電影節其中一天將會聚焦意大利，放映四部當代意大利電影，包括：Tomorrow’s a New Day （Domani e un ultra giorno）、「If You Love Me 」（Se mi vuoi bene）（Claudio Bisio主演）、I Hate Summer/Odio l’estate（我討厭夏天） （國際首映）和閉幕夜的影片If Only / Magari（加拿大首映）。

• Other films at the festival include China‘s Sheep Without a Shepherd

(Canadian Premiere), UK‘s Fisherman’s Friends (Canadian Premiere), Brazil‘s Back to Maracana, France‘s Spread Your Wings, Russia‘s T-34, USA‘s The Peanut Butter Falcon (SXSW Audience Award winner), and India‘s Bala.

Audiences will get a chance to vote on their favourite films with the People’s Choice Award to be given on the last day of the festival.
