Our stay at Shangri-La Hotel London at The Shard was an unforgettable experience.
Smiles greeted us upon arrival and guided us up to the 35th floor for check-in, where we played spot the landmarks through the floor-to-ceiling windows: the Thames… Tower Bridge… and hey! There’s the Gherkin!
Lovely Asian touches were seen everywhere throughout the hotel.
Our rooms above the 45th floor shared the same concept, the walls were covered in gold shimmery Chinese textiles, the floor-to-ceiling windows were equipped with motorized black-out blinds: We did not have to worry about the sun kicking our lazy ass out of the 300 thread count Italian Frette linens.
While we were feeling superior for not having to line-up to check The Shard off our list, our welcome tea arrived, just in time for us to enjoy as we continued playing spot the landmarks: London Eye… Big Ben… St. Paul’s Cathedral…
The pool wasn’t too big but shared the same beautiful view. Everything was enjoyable except for one small hiccup, the heating system in our room was not working, which, I’m sure the hotel would’ve fixed had we informed them.
