Royal Danish First Official Visit Kicks off Danish Trade Mission to Canada

It was an absolute honour to join the Danish Royal Highnesses, Crown Prince Frederick and Princess Mary as they kick off Danish trade mission to Canada on their first official visit to Toronto, leading a delegation of 80 best Danish business in fashion, food, and design to Canada.

An open ceremony held in the Distillery District was followed by a Royal business lunch with TRH the Crown Prince Couple. A trade show featuring 25 brands showcased some of the coolness and sustainability of Danish designs.

Danish Design Obsessed, a three-week exhibit of Danish fashion, food and design are now featured at the Hudson’s Bay with over 30 Danish brands showcasing the AW2014 collections. Guests also had the opportunity to experience Danish culinary art first hand with Michelin-star Chef Paul Cunningham’s live cooking demonstration at the open ceremony. In addition, Danish lunches are prepared fresh daily in Foodwares market until October 6.

Danish cuisine is a rising star in the culinary world, with Copenhagen being its main food destination. Some well known Danish must tries include gourmet hotdogs and the unpronounceable ‘smørrebrød’ lunch. Danish designs are internationally known for its sustainability. Danish trade mission to Canada demonstrates green innovation combined with some great Danish designs, from construction to fashion.
