Yorkdale never stops impressing us with its ever-expanding plans including 2012’s 145,000-square-foot grand expansion featuring first- launch retailers such as Tesla Motors, Ted Baker, Microsoft; and last year’s addition of 6 new-to-Canada brands such as Allsaints, David Yurman, and Mulberry.
The 50 Years of Style celebration unveiled a series of portrait of Toronto’s Style Makers shot by iconic photographer Bryan Adam, featuring Toronto’s movers and shakers Jeanne Beker, Lucian Matis, Lisa Ray, Dina Pugliese, Jagmeet Singh, Suzanne Rogers, Chloe Rogers, Cameron Bailey, Caillianne and Samantha Beckerman.
The campaign celebrating Yorkdale Shopping Centre’s 50th anniversary had Canadian super model Coco Rocha photographed in a golden anniversary gown hand-sewn by Lucian Matis. The gown is now on display at Yorkdale’s Guest Services desk.
A special Gold Collection was also launched celebrating Yorkdale 50 Years of Style. The collection features 50 exclusive golden pieces from Yorkdale’s retailers.
For one night only, the CN Tower had dedicated its lights to Yorkdale by lighting them gold.
The most exciting part was the announcement of the beginning of construction for Yorkdale’s new expansion project, an additional 298,000-square-foot retail space that is set to be completed in Fall, 2016.
