Canadian Film Centre (CFC) Fundraiser BBQ at TIFF
The annual Canadian Film Centre (CFC) Fundraiser BBQ has been a tradition since 1988, bringing together the entertainment industry for a fun afternoon while raising funds for CFC programs in film, television, acting, music and digital.
It takes place during the first Sunday of TIFF and gives everyone the chance to get together and connect at the beautiful grounds of the Windfields Estate.
Slawko Klymkiw, Chief Executive Officer of the CFC and Norman Jewison, esteemed director and founder of the CFC gave speeches at the BBQ, talking about the importance of the work of the CFC.
Musical performers Jillea, Liam Titcomb and Hey! DW DJ provided entertainment for the event.
The BBQ had a variety of booths to explore and plenty of food to try, like roasted sweet corn from The Mighty Cob, pork and black bean tacos from 10tation Catering, glazed donuts from The Food Studio Catering, Lolli Cakes mini cupcakes, Flow alkaline water, pizzas, fresh watermelon, hot dogs and burgers, and gelato from Gelato Fresco,
Guests included the who’s who of the Canadian entertainment industry, including: Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Hon. Michael Coteau, actor/comedian Gerry Dee (Mr. D), actor/director Pat Mills (Guidance), singer/songwriters Amy Sky and Marc Jordan, actor/director Jennifer Podemski, actor Randy Thomas, broadcaster Rudy Blair, broadcaster Christine Bentley, actor/comedians Jayne Eastwood, Colin Mochrie (Whose Line is it Anyways), and Deb McGrath, musician and radio personality Jaymz Bee, editor Michael Doherty (Hannibal), actor Paula Kaye, actor George Nickolas K (Map of the Stars) and Cinespace vice-president Jim Mirkopolous.
