LG G5 launch party transforms The Fermenting Cellar into a giant adults’ playhouse

LG is known for their family of innovative and high-quality electronics. Their philosophy that “Life’s good when you play more” was quite evident at the LG G5 Playhouse, held at The Fermenting Cellar. It was a huge party celebrating the launch of the new LG G5 phone in Canada. The LG G5 phone has a sleek lightweight and modular design with exciting features like a unique slide out battery, a dual rear camera with standard and wide angle lens with ultra HD, manual mode and auto shot, which takes pictures instantly when a face is detected (perfect for selfies). There is also a fingerprint sensor located on the back of the phone. The screen is 5.3″ Quad HD display, with a higher maximum brightness and higher pixel density. The phone also has a 32GB storage. The LG G5 has a series of interesting accompanying products, called “Friends”: The LG 360 CAM (shoots spherical photos and videos), the LG CAM Plus, LG Charging Cradle, LG Tone Platinum wireless headset, The LG VR headset, and the LG Rolling Bot.

As guests, we were able to borrow the phone for the evening to try out all the cool features. The image quality was fantastic, and the screen was big and bright. It was quite easy to use as well.

The Fermenting Cellar was fully transformed into an amazing adult playground. In the centre of the space was a giant slide and ball pit and we certainly enjoyed that experience. There were arcade games like basketball and ice ball, classic video games like Pacman, a floor size pool table, LEGO Fire Walk (we were successful, but it did hurt walking across the Lego pieces in our socks), a wall-sized Lite Brite, a photo station with a large cut out of the Raptors’ Cory Joseph, a Nintendo 64 video game lounge, and a candy station. As guests participated in each game, they were given tickets that were exchanged for a chance to spin the prize wheel. The grand prize was an LG G5 phone, which was won by a few lucky attendees. In our case, we won retro board games like Twister and Hungry Hungry Hippos.

In keeping with the adult playhouse theme, fun foods were served like mini shrimp poi-boys, mini chili dogs, mac and cheese balls topped with bbq sauce, cigar style vegetable spring rolls, black bean quesadillas, mini grilled cheese perched on top a shot glass of tomato soup, turkey corn dogs and chocolate milk with whipped cream.

Specialty cocktails of spiked lemonade (topped with candy) helped quench everyone’s thirst.

It was one fun evening where adults got to be kids again!
