The Youth Code‘s National Launch & 1st annual fundraiser show was held at One King West last night, March 16. Founded by Canadian actress and filmmaker Kalista Zackhariyas, The Youth Code attracted celebrity guests such as Emmanuel Jal, Keshia Chante and Jesse Giddings.

The show opened with an amazing dance performance by Jordan Clark, the winner of So You Think You Can Dance Canada Season 4. Then hosts Veronica Chail and Sam Sarpong welcomed Kalista Zackhariyas and Emmanuel Jal on stage to share inspiring stories of their personal journeys as victims of child abuse and child soldier. The show then continued on with performances by Emmanuel Jal, Jesse Giddings, and Keisha Chante.

The Youth Code
is a new fundraiser dedicated to help the stopping and healing of child abuse. It creates new initiatives and supports existing programs from organizations such as Peel Children’s Aid Foundation and Women’s Habitat. It helps children in recovery the chance to join arts and recreational programs that contribute to their healing.
