The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television (ACCT)’s 1st ever CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS kicked off with an industry night gala announcing 46 Canadian Screen Award winners in News & Sports, Documentary, Lifestyle and Reality programming categories. (Scroll to the bottom for full awards list)
The second night of the awards show announced 46 Canadian Screen Award winners in Drama, Children’s or Youth, Comedy and Variety categories, including Kim Cattrall from Sex and the City winning the award for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to Film & Television. The 5- day event celebrates Canada’s excellence in film, television and digital media productions. The award statue, designed by Endeavour in collaboration with Wallis Awards, symbolizes two screens with the public at the core.
The big night will be on Sunday, March 3, 2013, the final day of the Canadian Screen Awards featuring top Canadian talents. The ceremony will start with a red carpet show and will be hosted by comedic legend Martin Short. The show will be broadcast live on Sunday night at 8 PM (8:30 NT) on CBC Television nationwide.
