East Thirty –Six, a new restaurant & cocktail bar located at the St. Lawrence Market area has brought liveliness back to Wellington east.
Co-owner Julien Salomone, building upon his strong French background, his wealth of mixology experience at 5-star hotels in France, to his time at some of Toronto’s top fine-dining restaurants including Auberge du Pommier, One, and Nota Bene, has created a menu of refreshing cocktails that are carefully crafted. None of them sugar overloaded. Our favourite, Rum Row with house-made spice rum as base, blends magically with apricot liquor, lemon juice, a bit of ginger syrup and tonic float.
Boudin Blanc, a white sausage dish, is made with high quality ingredients such as foie gras, tarragon, apple and creamy savoy cabbage. Thin sliced scallops are served ‘crudo’ along with lardo, celery, tequila and lime. Radishes are prepared the traditional French style with no complications, courtesy of Chef Brent Maxwell, who has previously worked with the Oliver & Bonacini restaurant empire.
East Thirty –Six will be throwing a party to celebrate their grand opening on March 27th, 2014 (coming Thursday). Make sure to go check it out at 36 Wellington Street East! See you there!
