Have a craving for a gourmet hot dog? Well check out Fancy Franks Gourmet Hot Dog who just opened its third location at 453 Queen Street West (near the corner of Queen and Spadina).
Recently Fancy Franks Gourmet Hot Dog was featured on “You Gotta Eat Here!” and when my editor told me to go check out this place for a media event, I could not wait! “Gourmet hot dogs?” Who doesn’t love “Gourmet Hot Dogs”! Sure enough, this place does not disappoint! The menu is diverse and has something for everyone, including vegetarians!
Poutine
Kimchi & Noodles – Egg Noodles, Kimchi, Teriyaki Sauce, Squeaky Curds, Sesame Seeds, Gravy, Scallions
The Porker – Ground Chorizo, Grilled Onions, Bacon, Squeaky Curds, Gravy, Scallions
The Dogs
Franko Y Huevos – Chopped Hot Dog, Scrambled Egg, Ground Chorizo, Sriracha Grilled Peppers, Onions, Jalapeños, Cayenne
Frankie Goes To Buffalo – Chicken Bacon, Carrots, Celery, Blue Cheese Dressing, Buffalo Wing Sauce (Panko Fried Frank)
FFGHD TX – BBQ Sauce, Cajun Spiced Grilled Onions, Chipotle Mayo, Cheddar Cheese
Mini Donuts

A great thing about this place is the centre table that makes the dining experience very sociable, plus you get to see what your neighbours are eating so you get a flavour of the menu. For dessert mini donuts, I have already decided to order the Nutella and Crushed Biscotti on my next visit.
For me, the Porker poutine was outstanding. Of course, all the dogs featured were great as well. I highly recommend the Franko Y Heuveos and the FFGHD TX. I like spicy foods, and these two dogs had some bites with Jalapeños and Cajun Spiced Grilled Onions. With so many comfort hot dog and burger places in the downtown core, this place is unique. I will definitely come back and try different combinations. I only wish that there was a Fancy Franks closer to my neighbourhood!
