This season brings out the fun, laughter and joy of watching delightful holiday films. We were fortunate to be invited to attend a private screening of Faith Heist: A Christmas Caper. This sequel to Faith Heist, directed by J.B. Sugar, brings back the loveable Reverend Benjamin Wright (played by Jonathan Langdon) and his wife Vanessa Wright (Sagine Semajuste), congregants Gabs (Marium Carvell), Jack ( Aaron Poole), Jack‘s daughter Skipper (Eden Cupid), Nas (Jaeden Noel), mall manager Marge (Nadine Whiteman Roden) and mall security officer Randy (Marty Adams).
Rev. Wright heads the congregation’s Christmas installation fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital at the mall, with the precious million-dollar jewelled Christmas Star as the main attraction. Not trusting the mall‘s security, the jeweller enlisted Chilly (Dylan Taylor) as the security guard, along with the jeweller‘s son Partridge (Ray Galletti), to protect it. Partridge is an old friend of Marge, and she has complete trust in her ability to protect the star.
Vanessa Wright is saddened by her failure to get pregnant, while the Rev. feels quite insecure about becoming a father.
As Christmas Eve approaches, Rev., the congregants and Marge find themselves locked into the mall, as Partridge and Chilly turn on them in order to steal the star. Randy gets confused and believes that Partridge and Chilly are the good guys. It’s then up to the Rev. and the congregants to use their own skills in order to save the day, just like Bruce Willis did in Die Hard.
It’s a delightful holiday film that is full of laughs and has a few profound moments, especially when Rev. Benjamin realizes that he will be a good father after all.
