Gourmet Food & Wine Expo @ Metro Toronto Convention Centre

The Gourmet Food & Wine Expo was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from Nov 15-18, bringing together over 1,500 fine wines, beers and spirits from around the globe. With tickets purchase, guests got a chance to savour the culinary stylings of Toronto’s best restaurants, and sample complementary artisan cheese at the ‘All You Need is Cheese’ tasting seminars.

NHL alumni Mark Napier (Stanley Cup Champion Montreal Canadians ’79 /Edmonton Oilers ‘85), Dennis Maruk (60 goal scorer for the Washington Capitals), Lou Franceschetti (Toronto Maple Leaf and Washington Capital), and Bob Nevin (Stanley Cup Champion Toronto Maple Leafs ’62 & ‘63) were also there to make special appearances.

This year’s Gourmet Food & Wine Expo marked the sixth year’s partnership with Second Harvest. For every glass returned at the end of the Expo, Second Harvest receives a one dollar donation.
As Canada’s largest food rescue program, Second Harvest has been picking up donated, excess food, which would otherwise go to waste, and delivering it to over 200 community agencies in Toronto for the past 26 years.
