House Party at Hudson’s Bay Queen Street, Toronto

On Thursday, March 14, The Hudson’s Bay department store on Queen Street was filled with shoppers for The House Party event. Shoppers interested in new cooking, decorating and design ideas for their homes gained a lot at the event, concentrating on small spaces in condos.

The event started with a cooking demo by cookbook author, TV Host, and Chef, Anna Olson. An enthusiastic crowd enjoyed learning how to make Chef Olson’s lemon bars and sampling them at the end! Following this was the panel discussion on the sixth floor. Executive Editor at House & Home magazine Kimberley Brown moderated the three-member panel discussion: Christine Dovey, published Stylist and Designer; Brian Gluckstein, Home Design Ambassador for Hudson’s Bay and again Chef Anna Olson.

Their animated Spring Re-Fresh Panel Discussion covered spring trends in the home décor and cooking worlds. After the panel discussion, speakers were available for answering Q&A and consultation at various stations at the event.
Shoppers enjoyed sampling wine from Jackson-Triggs sponsored by Palliser, Steam Whistle Beer by Natuzzi Italia and Kombucha by Calvin Klein. Chips & Salsa station and Stained-glass cookies were enjoyed by all.

For those with Hudson’s Bay cards, there was the Hudson’s Bay Rewards Greenhouse where first 200 guests received a complimentary gift and specialty cocktail. Linen monogramming, crystal reading, photobooth and meditation sessions by Hoame were all on the sixth floor. Crystal reading included selecting three crystals to take home. Lots to see and do!
Shoppers were offered discounts of $20 and $100 when spending over $150 and $1000 on housewares and furniture. Hudson’s Bay House Party was an excellent introduction to sprucing up our home for Spring! Happy Spring!
