Interior Design Show 2023 returned with a jam-packed four days from January 19th to 22nd at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. IDS23 was its 25th edition showcasing inspiring designs, dynamic keynotes, and panels from the key disruptors in the design world. This year’s show theme was Moving Parts: Design for a Complex World, and it tackles the question of how design can adapt to the needs of today using sustainable products and rethinking how they are produced. This year there were exciting installations to experience, including the Caesarstone installation entitled JUXTAPOSED, designed by Brian Brown Studio, the Moving Parts exhibition by Picnic Design and BALANCE: an immersive art installation by Christina Sideris, which explores the pursuit of happiness. Walking through a tunnel of photographic art on illuminated boxes makes one feel more creative and happier.

During the opening night party, we walked through the show floors, enjoying the exhibits by Miele, Benjamin Moore, Weaver’s Art, Staples, EQ3, Roche Bobois, Kohler, ARD Outdoor, Urban Barn and many others while enjoying cocktails and bites. The party was a lot of fun, with great tunes from Bellosound.
It was a great way to reconnect with the industry and get a feel for the innovation in design that is right in front of our eyes.
