一直以來都是殘編旅遊史的住宿首選飯店之一，住過這麼多奢華飯店，寒舍艾美從未讓我失望過，台北的也不例外。
殘編在榮總住院時在網上認識了一位年紀輕輕就得血癌的年輕人Andy，他與癌症抗爭數年，最後儘管失去一隻腳，他還是樂觀到處趴趴走，不浪費生命中的任何一天。
快轉半年後，殘編結交一位新朋友，他帶我去寒舍艾美酒店大廳的北緯25度餐廳。這位新朋友再看到我之後，跟我說我的故事振奮人心，跟他剛過世的最好的朋友一樣，他隨即拿出手機秀給我看他與剛離開人間的最好的朋友的合照，竟然就是那位給我很大的鼓勵的Andy。當時與Andy早已失聯的殘編才得知Andy在勇敢與癌症抗戰了8年後，終究還是輸給了病魔，到天堂當天使了。無神論的殘編從那天起開始相信天使。他不但讓我交了一位真誠的新朋友，也讓我發現從此以後最愛的餐廳/酒吧北緯25度（Latitude 25）。北緯25度是寒舍艾美大飯店的大廳餐廳，每一道餐點都是真材實料，用料大方、物超所值，以下餐點為您ㄧㄧ介紹。

Le Meridien Hotel has always been one of my top luxury hotels when choosing accommodations for my travels. I’ve stayed at countless luxury hotels, Le Meridien has never disappointed, and the one in Taipei is no exception.
When I was hospitalized at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, I met an extraordinary and inspiring person online named Andy. Andy has been battling leukemia since he was in his 20s. Despite losing a leg after fighting for many years, he remained optimistic and was always out and about and never wasted a day of his life. He was very inspiring and gave me a lot of encouragement when I was depressed and trapped in the hospital.
Fast forward to about half a year to a year later, a new friend of mine took me to Le Meridien‘s lobby lounge/ restaurant Latitude 25. That was when I learned that my favorite hotel has a location in Taipei, and Latitude 25 has been my favourite restaurant ever since. This new friend of mine told me my story was inspiring and reminded him of his best friend, who recently just passed away. He then pulled out his cellphone to show me photos of him and his deceased best friend. The person in the pictures just happened to be the same Andy who encouraged and inspired me during my hospital days. That was when I learned about the devastating news that after fighting bravely for 8 long years, Andy lost his battle to cancer. I am an atheist, but I’ve started to believe in angels since then. Andy not only sent me a genuine friend in real life but also led me to discover my favorite restaurant. Every dish at Latitude 25 is made with real ingredients and served in generous portions. The value for money is excellent. Read on and let me blow your mind.

時尚高潮食記 – 寒舍艾美酒店大廳餐廳酒吧北緯25度 / Review – Le Meridien Hotel Raipei Latitude 25

進入寒舍艾美大飯店，迎接貴賓們的飯店委託藝術家所創作俯首迎賓的長頸鹿，紋路隨著燈光而變化，非常雅致。進門左側即是大廳全天營業的北緯25度，開放式的空間以及大片落地窗和舒適寬敞的沙發座位，讓貴賓們不論是吃正餐、下午茶或是小酌都能舒舒服服地享受充足的自然採光、放鬆的休憩，完全沒有壓迫感。加拿大的韓國餐廳都有服務鈴，省去很多「服務生故意忽視客人」的困擾。北緯度每桌上也有服務鈴，殘編在台灣還是第一次看到，讓貴賓們點菜更方便。

A giant bowing giraffe statue greeted us upon entering the hotel. The contemporary sculpture is Le Meridien‘s signature art piece specially designed for Le Meridien Taipei to welcome its guests. The pattern of the artwork changes as different lighting and shadows reflect on it, making it an elegant masterpiece. On the left side of the entrance is the lobby lounge/restaurant, Latitude 25, which is open all day. Open space with large floor-to-ceiling windows and comfortable, spacious sofa seating allow guests to enjoy their time comfortably without being claustrophobic. Sufficient natural light is a plus whether you’re there for a meal, afternoon tea, or just a drink.
What I like about Korean restaurants in Canada is their service bells, so servers can’t “pretend not to see you” for being an anal customer. Latitude 25 also has those service buttons on every table, making ordering easy and the service excellent.

 Latitude 25’s menu is curated with a selection of Asian cuisine dishes such as beef noodles, fried noodles, and fried rice ranging to Western-style pizza, spaghetti, and various snacks and desserts , the menu is vast and has something for everyone.

綜合生菜上面擺放滿滿的菇類，殘編請服務生幫我松露另外擺，結果你看這松露的份量給多少，豪不計成本啦！一樣肥美的蘆筍上面再加一顆完美的水泊但一樣肥美的蘆筍上面再加一顆完美的半熟水波蛋，看得著水波蛋就知道大廚功夫非同小可 ，竟可把蛋白的部分煮到全熟，蛋黃一切開卻是濃稠狀，香醇蛋黃汁滲入其他食材中，肥吱吱的菇類炒香過不只淋上馥郁的松露醬汁，還擺上一片片的松露本人的切片，菇類炒香之後淋上松露醬，水波蛋即刻誕生！覺得在菜單上看似簡單的菜，淡菜卻是令人驚艷的豐富層次，一口咬進嘴裡在口中只能用「爆香」形容！

A bed of mixed greens is topped with an abundance of juicy mushrooms, large asparagus, and topped with a soft-boiled egg cooked to perfection. The chef probably put in Bit of Chinese kungfu into preparing the egg because I’ve never seen a soft boiled egg with the egg white cooked well-done, yet when cut into it, the egg yolk still runs and soaks into the rest of the ingredients. Mushrooms are stir-fried and juicy. The dish is not just drizzled with truffle sauce, but also topped with truffle slices! The name of this dish is definitely an understatement. It provides an explosion of flavours in your mouth!

殘編在點這道的時候，服務生意有貼心的提醒說這道的青菜量不多，主要是海鮮的一道菜，但是沒想到他們上桌時的海鮮跟沙拉的比例這麼誇張，真是不惜下重本！綜合生菜上面擺上一大坨蟹肉，而且蟹肉不是那種火鍋假蟹肉 ，而是真的蟹肉絲，甚至還有幾塊整塊的蟹肉，蟹肉上擺上三隻肥美剝好殼去好腸泥的鮮蝦，再毫不客氣地加上新鮮肥大的鮭魚軟跟白煮蛋，再用黑橄欖和小蕃茄點綴。參編覺得這麼高級的飯店在菜單上把這道菜歸類於「沙拉」底下實在是太謙虛了。但是因為殘編造訪時是新型冠狀病毒疫情爆發以前，所以這道菜的價格不記得了。

When we ordered this dish, our server kindly gave us a heads up that the amount of vegetables in this dish is not much, the seafood dominates the dish. Still, I did not expect such an exaggerated ratio of seafood to salad when it was served! I’m not sure if the owner put “profit” into consideration when creating this dish. A small bed of mixed lettuce is served with a large chunk of crab meat, not the fake crab meat sticks, but real shredded crab meat with even a few pieces of crab meat in whole. Crabmeat is then topped with three jumbo peeled and deveined shrimps and fresh, big fat salmon roe, garnished with 2 slices of hard-boiled eggs, black olives, and baby tomatoes. To catogerize this dish made with top-quality ingredients under the “salad” section on the menu is too humble. However, since my last visit to Latitude 25 was before the COVID-19 outbreak, I do not remember the price of this item.

前面兩的前菜沙拉已經是物超所值的新人了，沒想到這道主餐也沒有讓人失望，甚至更誇張，參編取貨40個國家，義大利也呆了一年多，從未見過有肉醬俾面多的千層麵，覺得千層麵的肉醬應該比千層麵多三倍吧！還浸泡在濃稠的蕃茄肉醬中，再撒上一層滿滿的起司絲，寫到這裡，我光是回想就要又要高潮受不了啦！

The first two appetizer salads were already over-the-top, and this main did not disappoint and added flamboyance to our dining experience. I’ve traveled Across Europ and spent over a year in Italy, yet I have never seen a lasagna served with more meat than noodles. The lasagna at Latitude 25 is served with three times more meat sauce than lasagne! The dish is soaked in a bowl full of tomato meat sauce, and then sprinkled with a layer of shredded cheese,  I’m having a food orgasm just by thinking about it. Hey, I didn’t know I can reach the big food “O” during #StayHome social distancing.

Le Méridien Hotel Taipei provides food and beverages made with top-notch ingredients and a luxurious setting 5-star service. The value for money is definitely a steal to a point where I feel guilty for robbing the hotel whenever I visit. Besides that, every time I visit, something miracle happens. Dear Andy, your flesh may be gone, but your spirit bravery will remain forever in our hearts, thank you for inspiring, and being the best role model for a person with disabilities.
