Lou Dawgs has always been the #1 hang out after a Blue Jays game or Raptors playoff. Chances are you will find yourself surrounded by like minded diehard fans, run into one of your favourite players, or even your favourite DJ Deadmau5. Tuesday, we had the privilege to taste their new “Big Dawg” menu items along with some of their signature drinks while celebrating their 5 year anniversary.
2 delectable tacos, pulled pork and fish, were definitely great additions. The pulled pork taco, much like their famous pulled pork sammy, was made with slow smoked tender pork and black bean corn salad. The crispy onions was a great touch.
Triple pork Sammy was nice and saucy, a bite down caused chunks to fall. Yep, we like it messy.
I thought they read minds when they served the St. Louis Style Ribs and Slow Smoked Wings, because I like my ribs drippy and my wings dry.
Big Dawg Poutine was prepared with fresh-cut fries, beans, pulled pork, coleslaw and topped with homemade gravy made from smoked chicken. Every bite was a new surprise.
The crunchy pickle went well with the saucy beef brisket in the Big Dawg Beef Crunch Wrap, the homemade BBQ mayo added a perfect extra layer of flavour to it.
Of course the heavy food is best to be washed down with beer, or maybe a shot of JD. Try Lou Dawg’s own lager, or my favourite ‘The Lunchbox’ mixed with Lou Dawgs Lager, amaretto, and OJ.
Good times come with good music, #TangledUpinTheBlues on Tuesday nights feature live music by Chris Caddell– guitarist for Colin James and Sass Jordan, Cassius Pereira– drummer for Jeff Healey, and Kenny Neal Jr. – music director for Kardinal Official. Great country music takes you away to Nashville on Thursday nights’ #NorthofNashville with Ty Owens. DJs drop the beats on Fridays and Saturdays.
