Moonlight Gala 2018 in Support of McMichael Canadian Art Collection
For those who love a great outdoor party, the Moonlight Gala in Kleinberg, Ontario was the place to be on the evening of Saturday June 2, 2018.
The grounds of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection are open once a year for this fundraising gala. Proceeds of the event go directly towards the conservation and exhibition of more than 6,500 artworks in the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.

The summer exhibition “J.E.H. MacDonald: Up Close”, the Tom Thompson Shack and the Artist’s Studio were open to all guests of the gala in addition to the unforgettable food, drink and entertainment.
Some passed appetizers were Seared Scallops with strawberries and balsamic vinegar glaze, and Piri Piri Shrimp Carpaccio. The signature cocktail accompaniment for the reception sponsored by Air Canada was made with a blend bourbon, maple syrup, lemon, thyme and ginger ale.
Food stations were set up around the expertly decorated outdoor tent. Daniel et Daniel presented beer braised short ribs with a smokes peach scallion salsa next to Presidential Gourmet who offered a salmon poke red pepper, avocado and scallions over Asian sticky rice. Seventh Heaven shared wild mushroom and Peking duck risotto and Encore prepared hot smoked Teriyaki salmon served over a celery root puree. Inside the gallery’s Grand Hall was a large selection of Canadian cheeses presented by Cheese Boutique, a Mott’s Caesar station and goat cheese pannacotta by Aura by Cashew and Clive. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Austin Delaney from CTV news who introduced the Chair of the Moonlight Gala 2018, Michele McCarthy, the Executive Director of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection Ian A.C. Dejardin and Honorary Patrons actors Yannick Bisson and Chantal Craig.
After the auction, desserts were delivered by Big Cannoli Lane, Old Fire Hall Confectionary and Fortino’s as well as a candy station by JohnVince Foods. Entertainment included performances by Humber College Students and Graduates, and Montreal Rhapsody Orchestra.
For late night partygoers, Michie Mee gave an outstanding hip-hop performance in the Grand Hall, and Pizzaville provided pizzas. Aura by Cashew and Clive set up a ‘make your own’ stations with two options: bison burger and grilled cheese.
To top the night off before guests made their way home, Nespresso shared their coffees. The Moonlight Gala was a fantastic evening in an even more spectacular setting: The McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinberg Ontario.
