自從新冠病毒肆虐以來，我們總抱著「打不贏你，躲你總行吧！」的心態躲在家裡，很少出門。即便是「零確診」的歡呼聲不斷，也從未在連續假日出門趕熱鬧。人潮對我們來說，基本上就是一種壓力，畢竟「休閒」就是要獲得真正的心靈解放。

Ever since the Coronsvirus outbreak, we have been staying at home with the mentality of “If we can’t beat you, at least we can hide from you!” Although our country has never gone through a lockdown and has flattened the curve almost completely, people still rarely go out even on vacation days. The hustle and bustle on holidays were never ideal for us to start with. After all, “vacation” is all about relaxing.

到處尋找空曠的視野，「海」自然是淡水人的最愛，它一望無際、包容萬物，還有它散發出的淡淡鹹味，鹹鹹的海風吹拂在臉上，猶如可以殺死新冠病毒、封殺閒言閒語的神醫。

Our relatives visits us from Southern Taiwan, taking them to tour the Tamsui area is a must. A group of us are stuck in traffic on Danjin Road, along with others heading to Tamsui, desperate to get a glimpse of the nature and endless view of the sea. Nature and the sea are the best natural cure at depressing times like this and a favorite of the people living in the Tamsui area. It’s almost like nature’s sea salt can magically fight off salty comments and minds that are happening in the chaos.

淡水漁人碼頭劃下詩情畫意的記憶 / Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf Creates Picturesque Memories That Lasts Forever:

我們靜靜地走在海邊，最終大夥兒決定開車去看看久違的漁人碼頭。儘管十幾年前我們都曾來造訪這小小的漁港，它的影像早卻已被我們的記憶隔絕，僅剩下這個動人的名稱。這個仿自美國舊金山的Fisherman’s Wharf的名稱，對魅力無窮的淡水河和海洋交接處的漁港而言再貼切不過了，淡水河幾乎是台灣最不虛華也最不窮酸的河流，因為夕陽和大海為它抹上永不褪色詩意，隱約透露幽幽的古早味，想忘都忘不了。

After taking a stroll along the beach, and we all decide to drive further north to Tamsui‘s Fisherman’s Wharf. Although we all visited this tiny fishing port years ago, it’s been a while since we all last visited. We need to refresh our memory. The name reminds us of the Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, USA, and is more than appropriate for the destination.
Tamsui is neither over luxurious nor too humble. The colours of sunset polish the waters with golden paint, making it an idyllic scene that never fades, and forever lives on in our memory.

乎沒有人跡，因為人潮會在黃昏前一窩蜂的湧進，屆時我們早就躲到附近的海邊了。無意中我們被旋轉觀景台吸引，便朝向福容飯店走，看到飯店時我們每個人已經飢腸轆轆，只見人潮出現在阿基師觀海茶樓門口，此時手機出現11:10am。我們擠進人群中，才知他們都在等茶樓11:30開門。

After about a 300 meter walk on the boardwalk while admiring the tranquil seascape and the fishing vessels. The scenery is still reserved for us. Because we are playing it smart and arrive before “rush hour.” Usually, the crowds swarm in before sunset, which by the time we are already chilling by the sea. Inadvertently, we are attracted to the rotating observation deck and follow it, which leads us to the Fullon Hotel located at Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf. Our stomachs are growling by the time we reach the hotel, begging us for food. Fullon Hotel‘s A-Chi Dimsum Restaurant is run by local celebrity Chef Ah-chi (Cheng Yen-chi). The time shows 11:10 am, and the restaurant is already lined with people waiting for it to open at 11:30 am, so we go with the flow.

我們等到候補的位置時已經十二點了，桌位在離門口很近的位置，雖然仍可以看到海景，但外面的觀賞植物似乎更是我們這一桌的景觀。這裡不像一般的茶樓有許多的推車來來往往，親切的問你要不要小籠包、蝦餃、鳳爪…等等。我的茶來了很久，每個人都喝了兩三杯茶，也不見任何推車，最後決定用點餐的方式安撫開始唱歌的肚子。

The server put us on the waiting list, and by the time we are seated, the clock just hit noon. Our table is located close to the entrance. Our seats have a seaside view, complete with ornamental plants. No dim sum carts are coming and going like most dim sum restaurants. After a few rounds of tea, we decide to order from the menu because our stomachs went from begging to protesting at this point.

沒多久蘿蔔糕先來，雖然蝦餃、外相不怎麼美觀，但細嫩且入口即化，一人一口就見底了，此時大夥兒才發覺我們都沒沾醬吃。緊接著蝦餃、鳳爪、腸粉、牛肚、蒸排骨、小籠包、烏魚子炒飯、烤鴨…陸續都上桌了。每一道都味道十足，卻不油膩，吃後不會口乾舌燥。鳳爪和牛肚較鹹辣，適合重口味的人點。我們之中有酷愛麻辣火鍋的女士，對這兩道讚不絕口。

Up first is the classic turnip cake, the shrimp dumplings are not the most appealing at first sight, but once eaten, they are tender and melt in your mouth. We almost immediately demolish the dish and realize that none of us has dipped them into the sauce that comes with the order. Up next is a full parade of chicken feet, rice noodle rolls, beef tripe, steamed spareribs, soup dumplings (xiaolongbao), fried rice with mullet roe, roast duck, and more. All are tasty but not greasy and does not leave you with a dry mouth after eating. Chicken feet and tripe are the saltier and spicier among all the dishes, ideal for people who have a heavier taste. The 2 ladies who like spicy foods cannot stop raving about these two dishes.

喜歡吃清淡的朋友就較喜歡蝦餃、腸粉、蒸排骨。蒸排骨去骨，味道並不是很清淡，但很柔嫩，適合年紀大的長者。我們吃這道的時候，才注意到許多這裡的食客是年長者或行動不便的人和他們的家人，讓人感覺人間有溫暖，也感動阿基師觀海茶樓提供一個讓這些社會的弱者沒有被遺忘，還能享受天倫之樂的地方。

visitors who prefer lighter flavors can opt for shrimp dumplings, rice noodle rolls, and steamed spareribs. Steamed spareribs are deboned when served, the taste is on the lighter side but not tasteless, and the meat is very tender, suitable for elders with weaker teeth. While working on this dish, we notice that many diners are elderly, and people with disabilities enjoying their time with families. It’s heartwarming to see that they have not been forgotten and that A-Chi Dimsum Restaurant provides an environment for these heartwarming friends and family gatherings.

我們不分老少都愛的是這裡的烏魚子炒飯和烤鴨。烏魚子炒飯油亮，卻不油膩，飯粒分明，好吃到欲罷不能，第一道被啃光的菜竟然是這一道炒飯，大夥兒幾乎異口同聲地說「再來一盤」，但看到滿桌的食物，各個都抑制下來，決定先解決其他的菜再說。

The top 2 dishes that we all agreed on are the fried rice with mullet roe and the roast duck. The fried rice with mullet roe has a polished and shiny presentation but not from grease, the distinct grains make the texture delicious and irresistible. In Chinese cuisine, fried rice and noodles are usually served last to fill those who are still hungry. But in our case, The fried rice with mullet roe ends up to be the first to be devoured completely (notice the picture above, our phones didn’t even get a chance to eat first !). We try hard to not order a second round since our table is still full of food.

烤鴨也不同凡響，它似乎在酒裡浸泡一陣子再烤，有濃郁的酒味，不油膩還透露香脆的烤鴨特性。即使我們都沒配著盤邊醃製的白蘿蔔和小黃瓜吃，也都覺得很爽口。

Roast duck is also extraordinary. Duck is prepared with wine before roasting. The wine taste takes out the grease and accentuates the flavors and characteristics of a crispy roast duck. The dish is refreshing even without the white radish and cucumber served on the side.
