When a friend turned me on to Canada’s Taming Sari, I knew I would like them even before hearing their new single “Gone and Run Away“. For one thing, we share the same name. And more importantly, their amazing sound is a mix of modern and my beloved classic rock.
Taming Sari is made up of Warren Meredith (Lead Vocals), Joe Fraser (Lead Guitar), Miguel Brunette-Kingsberry (Rhythm Guitar), Alexandre Pellerin-Auprix (Bass), and Adam Ouellette (Drums/ Back Vox). The members hail from Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. Their first demo EP “Forest” came out in June 2018 and that has led to a successful collaboration with Toronto music producer Ross Hayes Citrullo, ( who has produced The Sheepdogs, and AWOLNATION ). Citrullo has helped guide them to their melodic rock sound.
Their debut album, “Thirsty from the Drought“, came out in 2019, with singles ” Down with the Devil“, “Wake up Boy” and “Gotta Please You“, garnering acclaim and many new fans for the band. They have performed for larger audiences at Ottawa Senators game, and at events with Ottawa rock radio station Rebel 101.7 where fans voted to have them take part in the finals of Real Rock Search. “Down with the Devil” then became a finalist for Ottawa‘s rock song of the year. At CBC Searchlight 2020 competition, “Wake up Boy” was voted as a top 50 candidate by the judges.
In 2020, they worked on new music which led to their singles “Loving Way“, and “Gone and Run Away” (their first ballad). “Loving Way” is a fist thumping, get up on your feet and rock out song. “Gone and Run Away” is melodic and powerful.
Taming Sari is a band on the rise. Their website has all the upcoming show information https://www.tamingsariband.com/. And be sure to check out their songs on Spotify.
