Friends for a Benefit (FFAB)’s Second Annual Memory Ball in support of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto was held on Saturday, March 23rd, 2013, bringing together over 430 guests and raising over $35,000 for a great cause at Andrew Richard Designs, one of our favourite loft style venue in Toronto.
The event featured a wine reception, pickled herring & vodka tasting by Feature Foods, delicious hors d’oeuvres by Toben Food by Design, and a hand massage station by Aveda where my frostbitten hands were nourished.
Live music were provided by the Toronto Clarinet Choir for the night:
Pickled herring paired with vodka provided by Feature Foods, vodka never tasted so good!
A moving film put together by the FFAB members was shown during the event to raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s disease among young demographics. Each FFAB member has been personally touched by Alzheimer’s disease. It was shocking to know that Alzheimer’s disease can be diagnosed as early as the age of 19.
More about Friends for a Benefit and Memory Ball
Friends for a Benefit (FFAB) was established in 2011 by a young group of people to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s disease. Members of FFAB have been personally affected by Alzheimer’s disease including 2 of their mothers diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Memory Ball is an annual event created by FFAB to fundraise for the cause. It is now in its 2nd year hosting over 450 guests to support the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
