The annual Made with Love Cocktail Competition was held on Monday, March 25 at the Fermenting Cellar located in the Distillery District. 16 of Toronto’s top bar tenders brought out their best cocktail creations to win a trip to Cancun to showcase their mixology skills internationally. 2 prizes were awarded including a people’s choice award and another decided by a panel of judges. Mixologists were judged by the originality, presentation, execution and the taste of their cocktails.
It was Robin Kaufman from Toronto Temperance Society who left with both awards by the end of the night. His winning concoction ‘Apples to Ashes‘ was composed of 1.5oz Appleton rum, 0.5oz cedar- infused rye, 0.5oz cedar smoked apple syrup, 0.25oz of Campari, 0.250z Unicum, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters finished off with a Unicum spritz and a rosemary garnish.
