Lesley Hampton showed her Fall/Winter 2017 evening wear collection entitled “THE GOLDEN HOUR” at the first Toronto Women’s Fashion Week (TWFW17). The collection, inspired by Hampton‘s First Nations background, combined unique patterns with body flattering contours. It was a pleasure to see models on the runway of various physiques, reflecting body diversity. There was a good mix of cocktail and gown length dresses. Black and white were seen a lot in this collection, often accompanied by sheer black sleeves. There were also black dresses with native inspired prints, white dresses with black and white prints, black and gold brocade in both dresses and jackets and black sequined top with taper leg pants. The gold brocade one piece halter and pant suit and the dress were dazzling. Everybody can wear Hampton‘s clothes.

Hampton‘s designs reflect her education as an artist (with a specialty in art and art history). Her label was established in 2016, and she has dressed Entertainment Tonight Canada’s Cheryl Hickey, actress Sarah Fisher, country singer Amanda Wilkinson and most recently, Canadian Olympian Penny Oleksiak for the Canadian Screen Awards 2017.

In addition to TWFW 17, Hampton‘s clothes have been featured at Vancouver Fashion Week, Fashion Art Toronto and Agence Select’s Fashion Night. In the press, her work has been seen in Vogue UK, Glamour UK, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan Mexico, Yahoo Style and Getty Images.

Hampton is one exciting designer, and we look forward to her future collections!
